Mohanlal’s Devadoothan To Re-release In Theatres In 4K

Mohanlal’s classic romance horror film Devadoothan is gearing up for a grand re-release. The first look update of the film has been released. The film is generating excitement among fans and cinephiles. Directed by Sibi Malayil, the film is now being re-released in superb 4K visual quality and sound.

Actor Mohanlal and the director Malayil unveiled a new poster for the film through their social media and announced the upcoming re-release. Taking to Facebook, the actor shared a picture along with a caption that read, “Devadoothan 4K Coming soon!" The tagline of the poster said, “Somebody wants to say something to someone."

The director said that it would offer a new cinematic experience. The remastered-edited version will hit theatres soon. Though the re-release is confirmed, the date of the release is not confirmed yet. The film Devadoothan was written by Raghunath Paleri. Along with Mohanlal, the film stars Jaya Prada, Vijayalakshmi, Janardhanan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Murali, Sarath Das and Vineeth Kumar in crucial roles. The film was initially released in 2000.

Devadoothan was a thriller that combined horror, mystery, love and music. Also starring Mohanlal as composer and singer Vishal Krishnamurthy, the story revolves around Vishal reminiscing about his initial struggles and an unknown soul that inspires him to compose songs. The intriguing plot, Mohanlal’s impressive performance, and the mesmerising music by Vidyasagar, a magical musician, are building momentum among the audience to watch the film again. The film won three state awards, including Best Popular Film, Best Costume Design and Best Music Direction.

Devadoothan was produced by Siyad Koker under the banner of Koker Films. The cinematography was done by Santosh Thundiyil while Vidyasagar composed the music. On the other hand, Mohanlal’s iconic Manichitrathazhu (1993) is also set for a rerelease later this month.

Earlier in 2023, the actor celebrated the re-release of the film Spadikam, directed by Bhadran. The film received a heartwarming response from the fans.
