Released in Tamil, the film went on to register a box-office collection of Rs 17 crore. It was later remade in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages after the makers sold the remake rights for a hefty amount.
The film talks about a very common story that is very common in our daily lives. The film shows a conflict between two tenants. The entire story revolves around the lives of two families. One is a young man who stays with his wife while the other tenant is an old person who also stays with his wife and daughter. They share a two-story building. Their conflict over parking starts after the young man buys a car. For both the tenants there was one common parking space that mainly initiated the conflict. As the film continues, they both try out plans to compete with each other. Their competition reaches such an extent that both the person tries to kill each other. But what happened next left everyone surprised. The film is filled with suspense and humour.
