Members of AIB arrested after Mumbai police receives fresh complaints against the comedy group
The removal of Section 66A of the constitution of India had brought about some hope for the comedy group, but not for long.

Update: This was an April Fools' prank that was posted on April 1 and should be taken in that spirit.

Mumbai: In a twisted turn of events, on 31st March around 11:50 PM, the comedy group AIB was put under arrest for the use of foul language and unconstitutional humour.

The removal of Section 66A of the constitution of India had brought about some hope for the comedy group that has been under the radar of the moral police and various religious outfits ever since they did a roast of Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. But all that is irrelevant as they were booked for making defamatory comments on celebrities and inciting pangs of homosexuality on impressionable minds.

The problem occurred when a moral policing group called 'Akhil Vishwa Parishad' decided to attack the comedy group with an FIR, not for their YouTube video of the roast, but for their "audacity to crack jokes of vulgar nature in front of an audience that had paid a minimum of Rs 4000 for the show."

Members of AVP were a part of the audience and they were disgusted by what they saw. According to them, a lot of people had similar reactions, but their opinions were silenced by AIB and Karan Johar.

"The jokes were all lifted off of Twitter and they weren't even worth the Rs 267 on pop corn!" said an AVP spokesperson, when our team reached their office for a comment.

While they have no beef with Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, who they see as victims of this entire thing, they are trying their best to get an arrest warrant issued for Karan Johar as well.

Our sources say that when AIB comic Tanmay Bhat was arrested, he could not be handcuffed because they wouldn't fit his wrist. There were also a large number of logistical difficulties in getting him transported to the police lock-up.

Other un-arrested stand-up comics like Aditi Mittal and Abish Matthew have been unavailable for comments, but our sources claim that they are currently abroad.

When we contacted actress Alia Bhatt, who has been associated with AIB since before the roast, for comments, she and her father Mahesh Bhatt wished all our readers a Happy Fool's Day.

What's your reaction?
