The Malayalam film Manjummel Boys, starring Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi and Balu Varghese, arrived in theatres on February 22. The film was welcomed with a phenomenal response and going forward, it only witnessed a surge in the number of audience flocking into the theatres to watch it.
The film, in its second weekend, amassed nearly Rs 25 crore which marks 65 per cent growth from the first weekend. Its significant collection can be attributed to its extraordinary trend in Tamil Nadu which has been making headlines for a while now.
In a historic feat for Malayalam cinema, Manjummel Boys has become the biggest hit in Tamil Nadu’s history. Shattering various records at the Tamil Nadu box Office, the film crossed the Rs 15+ crore benchmark in just 11 days. The film industry tracker AB George, took to his X handle, to inform about the same and wrote, “BOX OFFICE BREAKING —#ManjummelBoys crossed 15+ crores benchmark gross collection from Tamilnadu Box Office in 11 days.”

While it is tough to predict the total collection of Manjummel Boys in the state, the film is certainly heading to cross the Rs 30 crore mark. Meanwhile, Manjummel Boys scripted history as it became the first Malayalam film to record a double-digit collection day at the Indian box office. It earned Rs 11.25 crore on its second Sunday. Ever since its release, the film has amassed a total of Rs 57 crore at the Indian box office.
On the other hand, Manjummel Boys has managed to gross an estimated USD 4.70 million (Rs. 39 crore) till the second weekend internationally, taking the total collection to Rs 96 crore. The film is expected to hit the century mark in the coming days. It will be the fourth Malayalam film to enter the 100-crore club. Moreover, given the positive response that the film is receiving, it will possibly overtake 2018 to claim the title of highest-grossing Mollywood film of all time.
