Mammootty-starrer Turbo Enters Rs 50 Crore Club In First Week
Mammootty's Turbo collected around Rs 2.10 crore domestically on the sixth day. The domestic gross collection currently stands at Rs 26 crore.

Mammootty’s recent release Turbo is creating havoc at the box office. Within a week of its release, the Mammootty starrer has earned Rs 50 crore worldwide. The film is directed by Vysakh and stars the superstar Mammootty in the titular role. Raj B Shetty, Bindu Panicker and Shabareesh Varma debuted in the Malayalam cinema with this film. Kannada actor Raj B Shetty is playing the role of a politician who also happens to be a gangster.

With a first-day global collection of Rs 17.3 crore across 70 countries, the film also set a new record for the biggest opening day collection for a Malayalam film in Saudi Arabia. In Kerala, it garnered Rs 6.2 crore on the opening day. It marked the highest opening day collection of the year by a Malayalam film.

As per Sacnilk, Mammootty starrer Turbo collected approximately Rs 2.10 crore domestically on the sixth day. The domestic gross collection currently stands at Rs 26 crore. Overseas, the film has minted an estimated Rs 25 crore worldwide. The collection stands at Rs 51 crore gross. It is the eighth Malayalam film which has entered Rs 50 crore club this year.

As for the superstar Mammootty, it is his fourth movie to reach the milestone after Bheeshma Parvam, Kannur Squad and Bramayugam. These films have been released in the last two years. A total of 224 extra shows were done on the first day with an additional 156 shows on the second day,160 shows on the third day and over 140 shows on the fourth day.

The Kannada actor and director Raj B Shetty debuted in Malayalam cinema with Turbo. From his helicopter entry to punchy dialogues, Raj B Shetty impressed the viewers with his performance in the film.

Mammootty has played the role of Jose also known as Turbo. Jose is a jeep driver who gets in trouble and is forced to relocate to Chennai. He gets entangled with the notorious politicians. It eventually results in the face-off between Raj B Shetty and Mammootty in the film. It is the fifth film under the production of Mammootty’s banner Mammootty Kampany.
