Malayalam Horror Film Chithini Set To Hit The Cinemas On August 2

The upcoming film, Chithini, has been making headlines for a long time. Recently, the makers have surprised the viewers and dropped an update regarding its theatrical release. The upcoming Malayalam horror drama is all set to hit the big screens on August 2. The film stars Bengali actress Moksha, Vinay Forrt, and Amith Chakkalakkal as the main leads. If released on the said date, the film will be running in theatres along with Manju Warrier’s Footage.

Meanwhile, film director East Coast Vijayan has shared the poster for the film on his Instagram handle and officially confirmed the news. The director wrote, “Save the date! Chithini is all set to thrill audiences worldwide on August 2, 2024. Get ready for a spine-chilling journey with this horror investigation family entertainer,” in the caption. Earlier, both teasers for the film hinted at an intriguing horror drama set in a forest region. The film stars Amith Chakalakkal in the role of a police officer who stays in the enigmatic bungalow, while Vinay Forrt appears to be a youngster who is in search of the mystery behind Chithini’s death or disappearance. Chithini and Moksha’s characters in the film are expected to be revealed following the film’s release in August. A trailer is expected in the coming days.

Last year, on December 23, East Coast Communications released the title look poster for East Coast Vijayan’s film Chithini. The poster was unveiled by actor Suresh Gopi through his official Facebook page. It went viral on social media in no time.

For the uninitiated, with the fantasy comedy Kallanum Bhagavathyum, directed by East Coast Vijayan, Moksha made her Malayalam film debut. Her portrayal of Bhagavathy received immense appreciation from the viewers. As the female leads, debutantes Arathi Nair and Enakshi will also be seen in the movie.

The dialogue and screenplay for the movie were written by East Coast Vijayan and K. V. Anil. Apart from Malayalam, the movie will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu. Chithini, the seventh production on the East Coast, is said to be an emotional drama with scary scenes.
