Several unique and compelling projects are set for theatrical releases in the Kannada cinema. The latest to join the list is the upcoming sports film titled Sahara, which delves into the subject matter of women in cricket, something that is yet to be explored extensively in Indian cinema. The makers have unveiled an exclusive trailer of the film, introducing the audience to cricket’s women aspirants.
The trailer of the film was released on May 24, on the official YouTube channel of PRK Audio, the production banner behind the release. The 2-minute 11-second clip starts with a man awaiting the delivery of a child, who turns out to be a baby girl. The disappointed man, a passionate cricket fan, wanted a boy. The trailer then gives glimpses of the experiences the little girl has to go through as she grows up around an abusive father. However, just like her dad, she is a cricket fan and dreams of making it big in the field. The clip further shows the kind of men she meets, good and bad, and what is being expected of her.
