For her mehendi, which was held on Wednesday, Shweta wore a pink lehenga and Rohit a pastel-coloured kurta pyjama. For the engagement ceremony, she wore a grey shimmery full-length gown while Rohit kept it casual in denims and a blazer.
Shweta had earlier celebrated her bachelorette with friends in Bali.
Growing up, she was a popular face on Indian television, having appeared on several daily soaps, including Kutumb, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Karishma Kaa Karishma. Shweta was last seen as Varun Dhawan’s sister-in-law in the 2017 film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She will next be seen in a cameo in Vasant Bala’s upcoming film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
Rohit and Shweta got engaged last year after she proposed to him in Goa. According to a Times of India report, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap played a pivotal role in getting the two together. "The two have been together for four years now and got engaged last year. Both belong to the film fraternity and have collaborated on short films. Not many know that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was instrumental in getting the two together as both Shweta and Rohit are close to him," the report quotes an unnamed source.
