It was after a mutual decision that the band agreed to a hiatus. However, the band dished out some successful songs in an incredible five years, becoming a popular name among fans. While all the members enjoyed a massive fan following, two of them also remained a subject of discussion, but not for music. Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, who have been credited with creating some exciting music while being on One Direction, often found themselves surrounded by strange relationship conspiracy theories.

Time and again, the 1D fans were seen claiming that the two singers secretly dated each other, nicknaming them the ‘Larries.’ While both Louis and Harry continued to maintain silence over the same, suggesting that the claims were baseless, the Back To You singer recently opened up on the same and shared his thoughts.

Speaking to a Brazilian magazine, G1, Louis Tomlinson said that he has given up on denying the rumours, stating that people don’t want to see the truth. “I’ve realised this some years ago; there’s nothing I can say or do to dispel the believers in that conspiracy,” he said.

He further explained that the rumours are so intertwined with what people believe to be the truth that they now won’t see the truth.

Further mentioning that such rumours turn out to be a little irritating for him at times, Louis also referred to the infamous Babygate theories that came around after the birth of his son, Freddie. “At times when it gets far too personal, I have my son, Freddie. He’s the most important person in my life. Occasionally, it kind of broaches some stuff that’s really unfair,” he said, as quoted by a Billboard report.

Talking about the “Babygate” theories, things went south in 2016 when Louis welcomed his son with ex-Briana Jungwirth. However, a section of hurtful comments came around asserting that the baby wasn’t even real and that the singer’s management had manufactured the news and published fake images.

Following the formation of One Direction in 2010, rumours about the singers’ supposed romance started making the rounds. A number of conspiracy videos surfaced on the internet, with many even sharing their own imaginary versions of the story.

Even after the group disbanded in 2015, the theories continued to go strong. In fact, Zendaya starrer Euphoria, featuring a graphic scene with an indirect jibe at Tomlinson and Styles, also prompted the Always You artist to share his disapproval.
