Yuva Rajkumar is a well-known face in the world of Kannada film Industry. He is the son of renowned actor Raghavendra Rajkumar and grandson of legendary actor and singer Dr Rajkumar. Yuva Rajkumar is reportedly seeking a divorce from his wife Sridevi Byrappa. According to reports, he filed a divorce petition at a family court on June 6. After staying in a relationship for around 5 to 6 years, Yuva Rajkumar and Sridevi Byrappa tied the knot in May 2019. The wedding ceremony was attended by many well-known actors of the Kannada film industry. Top celebrities like Chiranjeevi and Rashmika Mandanna attended the grand marriage ceremony.
According to reports, Sridevi started staying separately last year. This came to light during the filming of Yuva Rajkumar’s debut film Yuva in the month of March. The report stated that the next court hearing is scheduled to take place on July 4, 2024. Yuva Rajkumar is presently busy with his work overseas and is yet to comment on this matter. Many reports state that the actor has taken such a decision due to compatibility issues and emotional problems. As per the reports, Sridevi used to run a coaching centre for the preparations of UPSC and KAS examinations named Dr Rajkumar Academy before moving to the United States for higher studies.
According to an interview, Paduvarahalli Byrappa – father of Sridevi Byrappa – stated that the couple shared a good bond until his daughter decided to travel to the US for higher studies. Sridevi is an MBA degree holder. She recently went to the US for her further studies at Harvard University. Speaking on the recent news of the divorce, Paduvarahalli Byrappa said, “In fact, I was against my daughter going to the US, but everyone from the Yuva Rajkumar ‘s family insisted Sridevi to pursue further studies as that would help run the Dr Rajkumar Academy more effectively.”
Sridevi’s father further stated that he was confident the couple will be back together again as her daughter returns. He added that if the matter goes beyond then they are ready to solve the matter in accordance with legal proceedings.
