Funnyman Jack Black is the latest star to sign on to the remake of 'Jumanji' alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.
Johnson announced the news on Instagram, posting a split a photo of his newest co-star and himself posing with a 'Jumanji' book.
"It's official: An ol' friend is ready to play in the world of #JUMANJI," he wrote.
"...A brilliant actor who I'm confident will turn in a performance of a lifetime for JUMANJI. (when we reveal his character you'll understand;). In our reimagining of the story of JUMANJI, Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funny and edge with childlike joy."
Johnson also revealed that the roles of 'one bad a** girl' and one 'semi-sorta bad a** dude' remain to be announced.
Production for the film is expected to start in August in Hawaii, with a release date scheduled for July 28, 2017.
The original starred the late Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier and Bonnie Hunt and hit theaters in 1995.
