Akshay Oberoi is a well-known face in the Bollywood film industry. He has worked in multiple films that have performed well at the box office gaining him significant popularity. He has acted alongside several well-known actors like Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. He has earlier worked in many small roles to taste success. One of his well-known films Pizza, completed its ten years. On this occasion, the actor shared some insights into the film and how his life changed after the film.
On the tenth anniversary of his film Pizza, Akshay said, “The film Pizza is very close to my heart because it marked my entry into the horror genre. Even after a decade, the film is loved by the audience, which shows their interest in supernatural thriller films.”
In the interview with media personalities, Akshay mentioned that the film changed his life. He said, “Pizza holds a great significance in my acting career. I believe that there’s still much more to be done to push the boundaries of horror films in India. We have just shown the least part of what horror films can achieve. Pizza is a remake of a Tamil film of the same name. People still love to watch the film in their leisure time.”
In the film, Akshay portrayed a pizza delivery boy named Kunal. Actress Parvathy Omanakuttan portrayed the role of his wife, Nikita, a struggling writer. She mainly writes stories of the horror genre. As the story progresses, Nikita gets pregnant. Kunal was not happy after knowing about her pregnancy due to their financial condition. He believed that his current income was insufficient to support another family family member. Several issues started to emerge between the couple which gradually get resolved, as the story continues. One day, Kunal goes to deliver a pizza to a bungalow which looks scary to him. As soon as he enters the bungalow the door closes. The story then shows the series of incidents that take place at the bungalow.
Akshay was last seen in the film Two Zero One Four alongside Jackie Shroff. He also appeared in the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer film Fighter. He played the role of Squadron Leader Basheer Khan in the film.
