There’s also buzz that these two stars might appear in a film together soon.

Jessica Alba has already spoken about the possibility of reprising her role as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four franchise. “Yeah, of course. I loved playing that character,” she said about her role in the Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. She added, “I’d be open to anything in the Marvel universe. I’m a fan of all the superhero stories, and it was a great time in my life…So yeah, if they would have me, sure,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Fantastic Four, released in 2005, is a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Directed by Tim Story, the film starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon and Kerry Washington. Its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, also directed by Story, brought back the original cast while introducing Doug Jones, Beau Garrett and Laurence Fishburne in supporting roles.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel is now planning to release a new version of the superhero team with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, set to hit theatres in 2025. The new cast includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

There are also reports suggesting that Downey might make his first appearance as Doctor Doom in an earlier film before Avengers: Doomsday.
