The 76th Golden Globe Awards is here, marking the official start of the awards season in Hollywood celebrating the best in films and TV. In the television space, with as many as 10 nominations, FX's two shows -- spy drama The Americans and Versace, the network is giving a tough competition to HBO and Amazon, which tied with nine nods. On the other hand, streaming giant Netflix secured eight nominations.

Making it big at the Golden Globes 2019 FX's The Americans was entitled as the Best Television Series - Drama of 2018. Other nominees in the category were Homecoming, Pose, Killing Eve and Bodyguard.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
Ben Whishaw picks up Best Supporting Actor trophy in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for A Very British Scandal. He devotes the award to the character he played for being a true queer hero and an icon.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television
Patricia Arquette gets the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for Escape at Dannemora.
Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television
Golden Globe sets another milestone by giving away their first lifetime achievement award in the television category. Recipient of the inaugural Carol Burnett Award to recognize lifetime achievement in Television is Carol Burnett. She is also the five-time recipient of Golden Globes and also the first woman to host a variety sketch show, The Carol Burnett Show. The Carol Burnett Award will be presented annually to someone who "has made outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen," according to a statement from Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

Sandra Oh wins the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for Killing Eve. She was joined by Russell and last year's winner Elisabeth Moss in the nominations.

Darren Criss has won the Best Actor Golden Globe in limited series or television movie for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
