DYK Salman Khan Keeps Only 10 Per Cent Of His Income?

One of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Salman Khan, commands a vast fan following nationwide, not only for his cinematic achievements but also for his selfless philanthropy. Throughout the years, Salman has garnered significant recognition for his numerous charitable efforts, underscoring his enduring legacy as a humanitarian. At one point, the Bollywood Bhaijaan revealed that he donated a substantial portion of his income to charity, keeping only 10 per cent for himself.

During an old interview with Aap Ki Adalat, Salman Khan was asked about his charitable activities and his income, to which the actor readily cleared the air. “Ye sach hai ki main sirf 10 per cent ko hi haath lagata hu. Baaki ka jo paisa hai wo jaata hai charity ke andar, but it’s not like 90 per cent of it goes to charity. A lot of money goes to charity (It is true that I only touch 10 per cent of my income. The rest of the money goes to charity but it’s not 90 per cent)," he said.

Explaining it further, he also shared that a lot of people approach his foundation (Being Human) and that his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, signs a lot of cheques to help them.

Notably, this is just one of the several efforts that the Bollywood star makes to help the needy. He is also India’s first bone marrow donor. Back in 2010, Salman Khan donated his bone marrow to a young girl who needed a transplant to save her life. From supporting underprivileged children across India to get a better life to adopting villages, his NGO has been largely involved in charity work, speaking volumes of his kindness. Also, the actor auctions his paintings to donate the earnings to charity.

Salman Khan was last seen in Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif for the third time in the celebrated franchise. He will be next seen in the much-anticipated flick Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film has been creating buzz ever since its announcement. As per the reports, the actor might play double roles. He will reportedly portray a businessman in Sikandar who is a philanthropist and kind-hearted person.

The film is expected to release on Eid 2025.
