Did You Know Stree’s Iconic Climax Came With A Shah Rukh Khan Reference?
Stree, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was released in 2018. Now, its second instalment, Stree 2, is smashing box office records and how.

When it comes to romance, what better inspiration can one take other than Shah Rukh Khan? Rajkummar Rao, who is busy soaking in Stree 2’s success, recently shared that the hilarious climax from the first part of the film, where he is asked to look into the witch’s eye with love was in fact improvised by him. In an interaction with Ram Shamani on YouTube, Rajkummar revealed that he had improvised the sequence taking reference from Shah Rukh since the scene demanded love.

Rajkummar Rao shared that his character, Vicky, in the Stree franchise, plays a small-town guy who has grown up watching Bollywood. In the climax scene of the 2018 film, he was instructed to look into the witch’s eyes with love despite the fear he experienced due to the proximity. Recalling the scene, he said, “Toh wahan pe maine improvise kiya (I improvised it there) which cracked people up. In theaters, people were going nuts over that scene." Rajkummar Rao also praised the director of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik saying that he allows actors to experiment on set.

Rajkummar Rao is an ardent Shah Rukh Khan fan and never shies away from expressing his admiration for the actor. In a Humans of Bombay post, he shared how the superstar gave him ‘hope’ to become an actor. He said, “Growing up, I was fascinated with Shah Rukh Sir – I used to stare at his posters and often think that if an outsider could make it as big as him, then maybe there was hope for me."

Meanwhile, speaking of Stree 2, which was released at the box office along with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, shows no signs of slowing down. The film has already earned Rs 300 crore and is expected to reach the Rs 500 crore mark in the coming weekend.

Besides Rajkummar Rao, Stree 2 features Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. Fans also get to see Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar as they make grand cameos in the film.
