Deepika Padukone's birthday is an exciting time for her fans, and the actress has added a surprise element to the day. The star, who turned 33 on Saturday, put up an Instagram story to tell followers that she has a surprise announcement to make on her birthday. Speculation soon began as to what could the announcement be about - a film, an endorsement or a production venture?
Deepika, who has been on a break from acting for over a year now, wrote, “Something super exciting coming up soon. Can’t wait to share this with you all. Love, Deepika.” The actor also added a countdown to her Insta story to signify when the announcement would be made.
Deepika was last seen in Padmaavat, which released in January 2018. In a recent interview, the actress had said that she needed the break as she was mentally exhausted and was preparing for the wedding.
The wedding was also an exhausting affair, with multiple celebrations in Italy, Bangalore and Delhi. Three receptions and multiple designer looks later, Deepika and Ranveer finally left for some much needed R&R in the US around New Years.
The actress will return to silver screen with Meghna Gulzar’s film Chhapaak, about the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. This film will also mark Deepika’s first project as a film producer. The film will also star A Death in the Gunj actor Vikrant Massey.
Speaking of the film, Deepika had earlier tweeted, “A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit. Elated to collaborate with Fox Star Studios on #Chhapaak.”
