Thalaivar171 is touted to be an action thriller movie and will not be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

After the blockbuster success of Jailer, superstar Rajinikanth is currently busy with the filming of his 170th movie titled Vettaiyan. It is written and directed by the renowned filmmaker TJ Gnanavel. The reports of him joining hands with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalaivar171 have also been creating a buzz in the entertainment industry.

Now, as per the recent update about the movie, it is claimed that the makers will be using de-ageing technology in the movie to make Rajinikanth look young on screen. The film is touted to be an action thriller movie. In the interview and other events, Lokesh admitted that he will be directing his next movie with Rajinikanth and it will not be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for making mass-action movies with an engaging storyline. His last film, Leo which starred Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role became a blockbuster at the box office. According to several media reports, it is believed that Rajnikanth will be donning the role of a young guy in the movie. The makers will be using de-ageing technology, which is a visual effects technique that makes the character look younger on big screens.

This will not be the first time that the actor will appear younger on screen. With the help of prosthetics and make-up, the actor has donned the role of a young guy in movies like Kabali, Kaala, Robot, Darbar and many others.

Following the announcement of his collaboration with Rajinikanth, Lokesh Kanagaraj mentioned the upcoming movie as an action thriller. The director is currently working on the script of the film and will start shooting in April. The makers are waiting for a theatrical release in 2025.

Rajinikanth will also be playing an extended cameo in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial Laal Salaam. The film stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles. Rajinikanth will be playing the role of Mideen Bhai in the movie. The film is produced under the banner of Lyca Productions and is slated to release in theatres on February 9.
