The director told the censor board that the term Kaaduvetty has a detailed history associated with it.

Solai Arumugam will be making his debut as a director and writer in Tamil cinema with the film Kaaduvetty. The film, however, hit troubled waters as it was asked by the censor board for cuts at 31 scenes. The censor board also objected to the title Kaaduvetty and asked Arumugam to change it.

Arumugam, however, didn’t agree with it and explained his point of view in an interview with a portal. Arumugam told the board that the term Kaaduvetty has a detailed history associated with it. According to him, in the earlier days, the kings would choose a place in the forest for war training. They would then have the trees located in that particular place cut down to make space for the training ground. Later, people used that place for their agricultural work and the construction of the town as well. This town was then called the Kaaduvetty. Arumugam added that there are 11 places in Tamil Nadu like this and thus the title Kaaduvetty is relevant to the storyline.

The first look of this film was tweeted by the lead actor RK Suresh on November 29, 2020. In the photo, he is seen holding a machete in his hand and twirling his moustache. He is seen sitting on a chair amidst the backdrop of a railway station.

The lead actor Suresh revealed on Twitter on September 27, 2022, that the film was slated to be released for Pongal 2023.

It, however, wasn’t released and the IMDb report shows that the film is in the production process. Reports state that Kaaduvetty’s premise is based in a village and reportedly shows a major problem that is prevailing in the villages. The problem was, however, not revealed in the public domain. Kaaduvetty stars Jayam SK Gopi, Rahul Thatha, Akilan, Sangeerthana Vipin, and others.

Divo Music unveiled the teaser of Kaaduvetty on June 3, 2022, and it garnered more than 14 Lakh views on YouTube.

Vanakkam Tamizha Sadiq composed the music for this film. Manjal Screens has produced Kaaduvetty. M Pugazhenthi has been roped in to do the cinematography.
