Veteran actor and filmmaker Arjun Sarja is all set to helm his next directorial venture, Seetha Payana, a trilingual project to be made in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. The film, which will be produced under his home banner Sree Raam Films International, features Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Kannada superstar Upendra, in the lead. Reports suggest that Arjun Sarja’s daughter, Aishwarya Arjun, will be playing the female lead, marking another collaboration between the father-daughter duo after Prema Baraha (2018).
This announcement comes just days after the release of Martin, a film that has gained significant attention, with Arjun Sarja contributing the story for his nephew Dhruva Sarja’s action-packed venture. Arjun’s last directorial project, Prema Baraha, also saw him cast his daughter Aishwarya alongside Kannada TV star Chandan Kumar. The film was released in Tamil as Sollividava.
Arjun Sarja, fondly known as Action King, has a rich legacy in Indian cinema, particularly in Tamil and Kannada films. Some of his directorial hits include Sevagan (1992), Jai Hind (1994), and Thaayin Manikodi (1998), which cemented his reputation as a versatile filmmaker. With Seetha Payana, he hopes to deliver another memorable film that can resonate across linguistic barriers. “An emotional voyage that will tug at your heartstrings,” wrote Arjun Sarja while announcing the film on social media. With this message, Arjun Sarja might be dropping hints that this film could be a romantic drama with high emotions.
Niranjan Sudhindra, who debuted as the lead actor in the 2022 film Namma Hudugaru, has been building his career steadily and now has four upcoming films. His collaboration with Arjun Sarja for Seetha Payana is expected to further his career.
Aishwarya Arjun, who married Tamil actor Umapathy Ramaiah earlier this year, will be making her return to the big screen with this film if the reports are true.
Besides, the makers of Iddaru announced the action thriller’s release date to be October 18. The film marks the last feature acting project for the legendary director, the late K Viswanath. The film stars Arjun Sarja and JD Chakravarthy against each other in a unique cat-and-mouse chase. The team unveiled the film’s teaser on October 15, giving a glimpse into the film’s world.
