Alia Bhatt, Rashmika Grab Eyeballs at Jigra Premiere After Dharma Halts Pre-release Screenings for Media
Alia Bhatt and Rashmika Mandanna wowed at the Jigra premiere, following Dharma’s announcement to cancel pre-release screenings for media.

The much-awaited premiere of Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, took place in Mumbai on Wednesday evening, and the star-studded affair grabbed everyone’s attention. Alia Bhatt, the lead actress of the film, arrived in an effortlessly chic black tank top paired with white wide-leg pants, exuding her signature minimalist style. Joining her was her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, while her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, also made an appearance to support her “bahu.” Neetu opted for a smart casual look, donning a crisp white shirt under a black blazer with classic blue jeans.

But the highlight of the evening was Rashmika Mandanna, who stole the show with her simple yet stunning outfit—a white t-shirt tucked into high-waisted denim. Her appearance sparked excitement, especially since Rashmika recently made waves for her performance in Animal alongside Alia’s actor-husband, Ranbir Kapoor. The chemistry between Ranbir and Rashmika in the film, where she played his wife, was loved by fans, making her presence at Alia’s premiere all the more exciting.

Vedang Raina, who plays Alia’s brother in Jigra, arrived in a laid-back all-black ensemble, wearing a hoodie that proudly featured the name of Jigra’s director, Vasan Bala. His casual yet cool appearance matched the vibe of the evening.

Also in attendance was Karan Johar, the producer of Jigra, who made a public appearance with his business partner, Apoorva Mehta. The duo has recently been in the news after Dharma Productions announced their decision to halt pre-release screenings for media. In a joint statement, Johar and Mehta shared that the production house made this decision to preserve the excitement and experience of watching films in theatres.

The statement explained, “After much deliberation, we’ve decided to forgo pre-release screenings for our upcoming films. However, we will continue to host screenings for the press on release day for timely reviews.” The announcement has sparked mixed reactions in the industry, with many appreciating the effort to keep the theatrical experience fresh while others expressed concern over the timing of reviews.
