Backed by Alia Bhatt, Poacher is a fictionalised portrayal of real events, revealing the largest ivory poaching network in Indian history.

Poacher, premiering worldwide on February 23, is a fictionalised portrayal of real events, revealing the largest ivory poaching network in Indian history. Written, created, and directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, the series stars Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. It follows a group of Indian Forest Service officers, NGO workers, police constables, and everyday heroes who risk their lives to investigate this case. Actor, entrepreneur, and producer Alia Bhatt serves as the executive producer through her production company Eternal Sunshine Productions.

In a chilling video released by Prime Video, a once tranquil forest is now engulfed in an unsettling atmosphere. Alia is visibly shocked as she stumbles upon a loaded rifle, spent bullet casings, and the outline of a lifeless body, evoking a sense of horror for anyone witnessing the scene. The discovery of this crime makes one ponder the equal value of all lives, whether human or animal. “Murder is Murder,” Alia says in the teaser, driving home a very important point. The teaser is already getting positive response but many hailing the makers for bringing forth such a cause. Check out the teaser here:

Home to elephants and countless other animals, the forest was always meant to be a safe haven for them, until the arrival of poachers. Intruding, encroaching, and killing mercilessly, poachers have forced many animals onto the list of endangered species.

Poacher is executive produced by QC Entertainment’s Edward H. Hamm Jr., Raymond Mansfield, and Sean McKittrick, in association with Suitable Pictures, Poor Man’s Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Alan McAlex (Suitable Boy) serves as producer for Suitable Pictures. Also from Delhi Crime are Director of Photography Johan Aidt, composer Andrew Lockington and editor Beverley Mills.
