Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh on-screen chemistry was the talk of the town when they played Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee in Karan Johar’s quirky rom-com Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. While fans loved their performances, they were eagerly waiting to see the two of them recreating the same energy in a different. And now it seems, their wait has ended since they played a newlywed couple in their latest project.
The first film presents Alia and Ranveer as a newlywed couple on their wedding night, still trying to find their footing with each other. The conversation veers towards both sharing their apprehensions about their “first-time”. As film unfolds, viewers find out that the ‘first-time’ in question is in fact their first time travelling internationally. As a solution, they turn to MakeMyTrip for their flight and hotel bookings, both taking on the planning/research responsibility equally and with great enthusiasm.
In the second film, viewers are drawn into the middle of a suspenseful scene – where Ranveer Singh, playing an international spy/agent, unearths the location of a most wanted person. When Alia Bhatt, his commanding officer, discloses that the mission is in London, Ranveer, with his humorous style, argues that the criminal should be let go as ‘he isn’t bad at heart’ to save himself an international trip. Alia’s character senses his apprehensions and introduces him to the MakeMyTrip international booking experience, highlighting its ease and tension-free experience.
On the professional front, Alia Bhatt has completed the shoot of her next film Jigra. In January, Sanjay Leela Bhansali left all fans in surprise when he announced his next film Love And War with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. The film reunites Bhansali and Kapoor after 17 years and marks the filmmaker’s first film with Kaushal. Bhansali reunites with Bhatt after the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi. The new film was announced on Wednesday, January 24. The film is slated to release on Christmas 2025. Sharing the post, Vicky wrote, “An eternal cinema dream has come true. #SanjayLeelaBhansali #RanbirKapoor @aliaabhatt @prerna_singh6 @bhansaliproductions #LOVEandWAR.”
Meanwhile, fresh off the success of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ Ranveer’s next project is ‘Don 3,’ directed by Farhan Akhtar, where he will take on a role formerly played by Shah Rukh Khan in this eagerly anticipated action-thriller.
Last year, Farhan Akhtar unveiled Ranveer Singh as the new Don in the teaser for Don 3: The Final Chapter. The teaser included Ranveer’s voiceover, resonating with the awakening of a lion: “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…”
