The CEO of ADOR, Min Hee-jin and the entertainment conglomerate HYBE have been at odds for quite a while now. The biggest point of dispute is Min Hee-jin’s claims that the recently formed group ILLIT imitated NewJeans in their debut album. BELIFT LAB, on the other hand, has denounced this. On May 22, the agency declared that it was initiating a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin.
Soompi posted and translated a copy of the complaint. BELIFT LAB claims to have filed a complaint on the allegations of “interference with business” and “defamation” for causing injury to their firm and its associated artists through her “unilateral false claims.”
They argued that the claims of plagiarism made against their artist ILLIT by Min Hee-jin are “not true.”
They assert that they have provided the judicial system with “evidence” that disproves these accusations. They went on to say that they plan to clarify the “truth” through the appropriate legal avenues, even if it could take some time.
They went on to state that “reasonable standards and procedures,” not “unilateral” or “distorted interpretations,” should be used to determine if intellectual property has been plagiarised.
They conveyed their “regret” that heedless conjecture and misleading information are undermining the hard work and accomplishments of their artists and members. They also highlighted the rude comments, mockery and personal assaults that ILLIT members endure.
They proceeded to “request” that any vilification of their artists, including defamation, negative remarks and the dissemination of false information, cease immediately.
A few weeks ago, global entertainment giant HYBE learned that its subsidiary label, ADOR, was seeking to take over management rights. This discovery sparked the confrontation between HYBE and ADOR. After this information was made public, HYBE abruptly carried out an internal audit and sent Min Hee-jin a letter requesting that she resign from her role at ADOR.
She did, however, refute all of the charges and make it clear that she had no desire to take over ADOR or NewJeans.
She continued by saying that the main thing bothering her is that BELIFT LAB is stealing hair, makeup, clothes, choreography, pictures, videos and appearances at events from NewJeans for ILLIT.
