Mohit Malik, a well-known TV celebrity is a perfect example of simple living, high thinking. Having wooed his fans with his brilliant performances on the small screen and then by revealing his hidden talent as a terrific dancer in popular reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, he continues to shock and surprise his followers.
In an exclusive interview with IBNLive.com, Mohit Malik shares the multiple ways which he and wife Addite - have used to turn their personal space into a beautiful sight. ‘Creative and colourful’ are the two words that can describe their house in the best possible way.
Mohit, who believes that every color radiates energy, has incorporated different shades to adorn his home. “Me and my wife Adi have a great love for colors. I’ve sky blue in my bedroom, green in my creative room and yellow in my bar.”
After he played the role of Bharat in ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhann’, Mohit became a household name. It is because of the husband-wife duo’s firm belief in Sai Baba that they decided to set up a temple in which a 4-feet-long Baba’s idol has been installed. And as Mohit told us, this is the ‘most important’ aspect of his home.
Where did he purchase the idol from? “There was this one shop that I would cross each time I went for my shoot. And the murti that was placed right outside would catch my attention almost daily. Since I found it really beautiful I decided to purchase it for my house.”
From a cane swing with a single seat to a fish aquarium, he has used virtually everything to give it a new feel. Since the actor is a fitness freak, plans are underway to set up a gym soon. “I think one should have a small gym in the house. So yes, that’s what I would be installing in my house soon.”
Is there anything he would like to change in his house? “Yes, a lot of things. In fact that’s what me and my wife discuss all the time. According to me one should do it every two years. You feel good when each time a new element is added to the house,” he explained.
Confessing that they never actually go out for home shopping, he stated that they buy interesting things that go with the mood of the house irrespective of the city they travel to.
The actor who has even explored the negative arena of the small screen with his role of Samrat Singh Rathore in 'Doli Armaano Ki' believes that ‘his life becomes messy, if his wardrobe is messed up.’ That’s why I take time out of my schedule to sort my clothes every once a week,” he says, “When it’s sorted, I’m sorted. I like things in place, I like cleanliness. I even want my bed sheet to be perfect. “
“I’ve a particular corner in my house that my wife, all my friends love where we usually sit and have coffee. There are a lot of plants next to the window.” The best thing about the house according to him is that it is surrounded by a lot of trees that makes it ‘cosy and nice’.
