Actor Aishwarya Arjun, daughter of South’s renowned action king, actor Arjun Sarja, tied the knot with director Umapathy Ramaiah, son of celebrated actor turned director Thambi Ramaiah in Chennai, on June 10, 2024.
Exuding timeless opulence in a custom kanjeevaram silk saree designed by renowned fashion designer Gaurang Shah, Aishwarya paired the exquisite drape with a blouse featuring zardozi embroidery.
The traditional red and gold silk saree added vibrancy to Aishwarya’s bridal look. Celebrity fashion stylist Eka Lakhani, who styled Aishwarya on her big day, took to instagram to wish the couple and also spoke about the inspiration behind the traditional saree.
Eka said, “We met at the beginning of our careers, and though we couldn’t work together then, it means the world to finally share this special day with her after all these years. This journey has been incredibly beautiful. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be associated with Aishwarya, Arjun Sir, and the entire family. Wishing you and Umapathy a life filled with love and magic as you embark on this new chapter.”
Describing the wedding attire, Eka further added, “Custom @gaurangofficial pure Kanjivaram silk saree, woven with depiction of Ram’s coronation. The designs are inspired by the sculptures on the walls of traditional temples in Kanchipuram, the birthplace of pure Kanjivaram silk. The blouse shares this intricate design on its border and is adorned with pure zardosi embroidery work throughout.”
The intricate details of Lord Ram’s coronation woven in gold and the radiant red hue of the saree was beautifully complemented with the heirloom jewellery designed by Kishandas & Co. Aishwarya’s natural beauty was enhanced with minimal makeup done by celebrity hair and makeup artists Anchit and Aakash of The Twins Magicc. Aishwarya’s bespoke mehendi was designed by Jyoti Chheda. The couple’s magical wedding moments were captured by Naman Verma.
Complementing his bride Aishwarya, Umapathy Ramaiah adorned a traditional silk zari veshti set designed by clothing brand, Kanakavalli.
Aishwarya and Umapathy kicked off their pre-wedding festivities in Chennai in the beginning of June. The festivities began with Aishwarya celebrating the haldi ceremony at her residence in Chennai surrounded by close family and friends. Dressed in a simple white kurta, the attire beautifully captured Aishwarya’s minimalistic, elegant style.
The couple hosted an intimate mehendi ceremony at Aishwarya’s house, where she looked like a ray of sunshine in a yellow Anamika Khanna ensemble.
Aishwarya will soon be seen in her Telugu debut movie, stepping into a new realm with a role that showcases her versatility. Umapathy recently debuted as a director with Rajakili and is now planning his next directorial movie. Here’s wishing the new married couple a happy married life and best wishes for their future projects.
