'Snooping' in West Bengal Raj Bhavan? Governor Bose Makes Big Claim, Cites ‘Reliable Info’
Bose refuted allegations from a section of the ruling party and the state government that a number of bills are being held back at the office of the Governor

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Tuesday alleged “snooping” attempts were made at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata, claiming that he had “reliable information”. His claims came amid growing tensions in his relationship with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led government.

Bose said that the matter has been brought to the notice of concerned authorities.

In a conversation with PTI, he said, “It is a fact. I had reliable information about snooping in Raj Bhavan. That issue has been flagged to the concerned authorities. I will wait and watch.”

Bose further said his relation with the Chief Minister is very cordial which is based on mutual respect and understanding. “I see the governor-CM relationship in two levels. As individuals, our relationship is very cordial which is based on mutual respect and understanding. As far as the relationship between the governor and the CM is concerned, the perception may be different because the elected chief minister and the nominated governor need not necessarily think alike on every issue,” he said.

On completing one year as the Governor of West Bengal, Bose said that the major issues which beset Bengal’s public life are violence and corruption. The Governor said his priority is the well-being of the people of the state.

Bose refuted allegations from a section of the ruling party and the state government that a number of bills are being held back at the office of the Governor.

“I have released all the bills. In case of certain bills, certain clarifications were sought which the office of the Governor is yet to receive. The Governor acts as a bridge between the Union and state governments. I am not in favour of any kind of tussle. There should be mutual coordination and understanding between the Raj Bhavan and the Governor’s House,” he said.
