TIRUNELVELI: A woman protester staging indefinite fast at Idinthakarai was admitted at hospital on Sunday. PMANE coordinator S P Udayakumar, another functionary Pushparayan, and 13 others including 7 women have been staging an indefinite fast at Idinthakarai since March 19, when large contingent of police forces were deployed at in and around Koodankulam area.They continued the indefinite fast for the 7th day on Sunday at the coastal village. Besides a huge number of people from nearby coastal villages thronged at the village and expressed their solidarity for the protest.While the fasting protesters’ health condition was weak, the health condition of a woman protester Melbret was deteriorated. She was admitted at the Lourde Hospital at the village. Yoland, a staff nurse at the hospital, told Express that Melbret, a diabetic patient, was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening in a coma like stage. “Glucose fluid is being given to her and her health condition is improving,” she said.
