Pranab says India didn't hand over evidence regarding Pakistan hand in 7/11 blasts to Pak due to legal constraints.

New Delhi: India has not handed over evidence to Pakistan regarding Pakistani hand in Mumbai serial train blasts because of legal requirement at home but would do so once that is met, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Sunday.

"We will definitely give them (evidence to Pakistan). Let the legal formalities be complied with, we will give it to them", Mukherjee told news channel Times Now.

The Minister said there were legal problems in giving out evidence before chargesheets were filed in the court.

He said the Government had handed over evidence to and shared information with Islamabad regarding Pakistani linkage to anti-India terrorist activities in other cases after completion of such formalities.

Asked about Indo-Pak talks on demilitarisation of Siachen, he said "long before" the Composite Dialogue process began, India and Pakistan were discussing the issue and eight to nine rounds of talks have been held.

The present situation was that both sides would withdraw troops from the existing position "but one difference has not yet been resolved".

"That has been discussed two-three times but not yet resolved", Mukherjee said, adding India wanted that the pre-withdrawal positions have to be authenticated on the map.
