West Bengal Youth Invents Solar-powered Smart Hat To Protect Farmers In Scorching Heat
Many can switch on their ACs and fans and beat the heat by staying inside their offices or homes. But think of the farmers, who toil hard in the sun to grow crops.

This year, the sweltering summer season has caused heatwaves across the country which has led to many deaths. Despite the wet spells in some regions of India, people in other parts are desperately waiting for the temperatures to drop. Currently, West Bengal is facing two different conditions, where in the northern part, it has been raining continuously for the last couple of days and got some instant respite. On the other hand, in the southern part of the state, the picture is completely different. People are struggling with the soaring temperatures. Amid this, a young man from the Nadiya district came up with a smart hat invention for farmers.

Many can switch on their ACs and fans and beat the heat by staying inside their offices or homes. But think of the farmers, who toil hard in the sun to grow crops. Farmers are facing more difficulties as they have not just to brave the constant heat and the mid-noon loo, but also witness some of their crops dying due to excessive heat. So, keeping this in mind, Shubmoy Biswas, a resident of Bogula Shri Krishna College Para, decided to make a smart hat for farmers which will be beneficial to them during the scorching heat.

The smart hat is installed with four high-speed small fans that are powered by solar energy. Due to this, the farmers will comfortably be able to work in intense heat. Further, it has a radio FM in it which will keep them updated about the weather news while toiling hard in the field. But that’s not all. Farmers will also be able to see in the night as the hats are equipped with lights.

In Nadia district, many farmers have already begun to use the hat and have claimed that the invention has been offering them a much-needed respite. Environmentalists think that his discovery is unprecedented for common people and farmers.
