West Bengal: 3 journalists allegedly roughed up by TMC supporters
The journalists were covering the murder of a TMC supporter who was shot dead by unknown assailants on Thursday night.

Kolkata: Three video journalists belonging to different Kolkata based regional news television channel were allegedly roughed up by Trinamool Congress supporters in the Barrackpore subdivision in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident so far. Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Surjya Kanta Mishra has written to Governor MK Narayanan seeking his intervention in the matter.

The journalists had gone to the spot to cover the murder of a Trinamool Congress supporter Jitulal Tanti, who had succumbed to injuries on Thursday night after unknown assailants fired upon him. The murder was reportedly a fall out of infighting within the TMC in the area.

The injured journalists have been admitted to a local hospital. Their equipment and two-wheelers have also been destroyed.
