Braving biting cold, devotees thronged Naudi fair to pay obeisance to Mother Anusuya at the famous Himalayan temple named after the goddess in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.

The fair began on Monday with scores of men and women undertaking a long trek to reach the high altitude shrine about 15 km from Gopeshwar to offer prayers to the goddess, a temple authority said.

The fair is held annually around the temple precincts where visitors especially couples worship goddess Anusuya for the fulfilment of their wish.

The fair will go on for the next two days and conclude with the "parikrama" of palanquins carrying idols of Hindu deities at Atrimuni ashram, a few kms from Gopeshwar.
