Srinagar/New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two policemen for alleged links with the Lashkar-e-Toiba. The men were arrested on Wednesday morning in Srinagar.
Kashmir DGP Gopal Sharma has told CNN-IBN that a probe has been ordered into to the incident.
The arrests come a day after Military Intelligence detained two soldiers for their alleged links with an LeT commander.
Police claim the policemen and the Armymen were arrested after questioning an LeT terrorist Tipu, who was picked up in Poonch last week.
Reports said that the four men had helped terrorists carry out attacks in Poonch and Rajouri.
There were also reports earlier that the soldiers belonged to the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment.
However, on Wednesday, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said the two 'Armymen' persons nabbed in Jammu and Kashmir for their alleged links with terrorists actually belong to India Reserve Battalion (IRB).
"They are not Armymen but from IRB," he said in the Rajya Sabha.
The Home Minister's remarks came soon after senior BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi referred to media reports about the arrest of the two persons for their alleged links with terrorists.
