In a tragic incident, two BSF jawans have died and three have been injured in a mortar blast during a training exercise at the Kishangarh Firing Range in Pokhran.
The jawans were practising firing with 81 mortars when suddenly the ammunition went off in the barrel itself this afternoon, said BSF DIG Ravi Gandhi.
The splinters hit the jawans who were standing close to the barrel, killing two on the spot and injuring two others seriously, he said.
The injured were rushed to Jodhpur by the airforce chopper for the treatment, he said.
All of them belong to Rajasthan.
