Take action against MKs son

CHENNAI: Deputy leader of the Opposition and DMDK presidium chairman Panruti S Ramachandran has sought criminal action against Union Minister M K Alagiri for conducting himself in a manner that would affect investigations into land grabbing cases.Participating in the debate during the discussion on the Home Department in the Assembly here on Wednesday, Ramachandran said that Alagiri had met the DMK party functionaries who were arrested in land grabbing cases in prison.  Such an action by Alagiri would only create fear among the witnesses in those cases and affect the investigation process, he added.When mediapersons asked Alagiri about his visit to the prison, he replied saying that he had gone to meet his friends.  “This helps us understand the true character of Alagiri,” he said.Ramachandran also urged the AIADMK government to conduct a fair probe into the crimes that occurred during the previous regime.  He also urged the government to secure justice for the family of those killed in the Dinakaran office attack case, and the kin of former DMK minister Kiruttinan, who was murdered.
