One of the most popular and cult comic characters to have appeared in Tinkle, Suppandi’s own magazine Suppandi 48 goes teen with the sixth issue.Suppandi was born three decades ago in Tinkle - am Indian children’s magazine and generations of Indians have grown up enjoying his crazy antics! Given the popularity of Suppandi and his cult status, Amar Chitra Katha (ACK-Media) gave life to Suppandi in his own world as Suppandi 48, a special 48 page quarterly magazine in October 2010. Each issue of Suppandi is a collectors’ edition, eagerly awaited by his many fans and promises hours of laughter and fun.What is the new twist in Suppandi’s tale ? Does he change? Will he become a different person? What new chaos will he create? He will be making a mess of different professions, pursuing his hobbies, having crazy adventures with his friends, and much more. Suppandi 48 is loaded with edgy, crazy and wacky humor guaranteed to tickle every funny bone.“With this issue, Suppandi 48 will be transforming into a teen magazine. Teenagers mostly end up reading something that’s for children or for grownups. So, the Suppandi 48 team decided to give the young adults a magazine that is specifically designed for them!” said Anisha Karthick, editor Suppandi 48. ‘Suppandi’ of Suppandi 48 will be distinct from the ‘Suppandi’ of Tinkle. He will be seen exploring different scenarios, having fun-filled adventures and connecting with contemporary technology, but at the same time, we’ll be maintaining the basic essence of the character,” she further added.The magazine is predominantly a humor magazine. The sixth issue has a Suppandi adventure story where he gets kidnapped. Super Suppandi (who is Suppandi’s alter ego) attempts to revamp his costume and be like the Bollywood heroes. He will be seen having crazier adventures in the coming issues. Apart from Suppandi stories, the sixth issue is loaded with a variety of comic and non-comic features. An unextinct dinosaur, talking heads, zombies, nonsense quizzes are samples of what the latest edition of Suppandi 48 has in stores for its readers.
