Chennai: Doctors have confirmed that superstar Rajinikanth's health is now improving but he will still remain in the ICU for a few more days as a precautionary measure.
The Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai where Rajinikanth is undergoing treatment issued a medical bulletin on Saturday afternoon saying the superstar's vital parameters are back to normal.
"Rajnikanth spent time with his family and has food by himself. He is still in the ICU to restrict visitors and avoid infections," the medical bulletin said.
His breathing has now stabilised, but doctors have advised complete bed rest.
On Friday, calling him a 'superhero', Shah Rukh Khan prayed for the speedy recovery of Rajinikanth.
"Suddenly felt awful yesterday while driving back from the match to know Rajini sir is unwell. He is our superhero...insha allah he will be well soon," Shah Rukh wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
"I was worried after hearing that Rajinikanthji is not well. So I called up her daughter and she says he is fine now. I wish speedy recovery for him," singer Lata Mangeshkar tweeted.
Rajinikanth is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai. The actor fell ill on the first day's shooting of his new film 'Rana' (The Monarch) last month.
Veteran actor Dev Anand tweeted, "I pray for my dear Rajini's sound health and speedy recovery (sic)."
