A sub-inspector was on Saturday caught red-handed in Indore taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 for releasing two persons held in a case of manhandling.
SI Pavan Pandey, posted in Umarban police post was caught by Lokayukta Police on the complaint of Radheshyam Bhilala. Pandey had summoned Bhilala's two relatives Pratap and Amar Singh in connection with a manhandling case and demanded Rs 20,000 from them for relasing them in the matter.
Following a tip-off Lokayukta Police laid a trap and caught Pandey accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe. A case under Prevention of Corruption Act is registered against the accused.
