ROURKELA: A B.Tech student of a Talcher-based private institute, Anwar Asif (26), was on Thursday produced in court on charges of outraging the modesty of a M.Tech student of National Institute of Technology-Rourkela. A case was registered with the Plant Site police following which he was nabbed.The girl had stated in her complaint that Anwar was an acquaintance and was on a visit to Rourkela on Tuesday. During the visit, he chanced upon her at a market place and invited her to a hotel for a meeting. At the restaurant of the hotel, where Anwar had put up, he allegedly took her to his room at knife-point and tried to molest her. She, however, managed to send an SMS to her uncle who, accompanied by the Rourkela councillor Pramila Das, rescued her. Police have seized a computer from Anwar after she alleged that the accused had taken some obscene photographs of her. The pictures were taken when the two were in a relationship for past some years, sources said. After their recent break-up the accused was allegedly coercing her to return to the relationship.
