Status quo on Excise cop zonal transfers

HYDERABAD: The vacation bench of the High Court on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to maintain status quo on the posting of excise constables.The bench passed the order while taking on file a batch of writ petitions filed by personnel recruited as constables under the AP Special Police.They challenged an order of the AP Administrative Tribunal which had earlier upheld the action of the government in seeking to transfer them to their ‘parent zones’ by applying the Presidential Order.The petitioners unsuccessfully contended before the tribunal that they were recruited to a state-wide post and under the guise of taking options for absorption in the excise department they were sought to be transferred to zonal areas.
