THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting gave its approval for the formation of a State Industrial Security Force modelled after the CISF. The force will be 500 men strong in the beginning and will be carved out of the state police force, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said. Rs 400 FOR AIDS PATIENTSThe Cabinet approved a monthly pension of Rs 400 to AIDS patients. If the patient has passed away, the spouse will get the same amout as pension. The Cabinet also approved a travelling allowance of Rs 120 for AIDS patients. PSC RANK LISTTerm of PSC rank-lists will be extended to April 30 to address problems that have arisen out of the unification of pension date, the CM said. SPECIAL OFFICER Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar was handed one more portfolio on Wednesday. Jayakumar, who arguably holds the record of handling the most government portfolios at a time, was made special officer of the proposed Malayalam University.ASSISTANCE The government will provide Rs 2,000 as monthly stipend to eighth standard student Archana K Raju who won gold at the the National Schools Meet.
