On the second day of her admission to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), suspended IAS officer and an accused in the Obulapuram Mining Scam, Y Srilakshmi underwent medical tests there on Wednesday.
She was discharged from the hospital after the tests and was taken back to Chanchalguda Special Prison for Women, where she is currently lodged, following security concerns raised by the jail authorities. “She will be taken back to the hospital on Thursday,” said a jail official. Srilakshmi was admitted to the NIMS on Tuesday following complaints of severe sciatic nerve pain in her left leg. She has been suffering from the pain for the last three months. “She has to undergo an operation on her left leg, which will be conducted in the NIMS,” a jail official said.
Prison authorities had taken her to the emergency ward of the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) following her complaint to the doctors at a medical session in the Chanchalguda jail.
