THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The following traffic arrangements will be in place in the city from Thursday to September 13 in view of Onam celebrations. Between 6 p.m. and 9.30 p.m., traffic will not be allowed on the Vellayambalam-Corporation Office stretch.Vehicles moving from the Vellayambalam side to Thampanoor and East Fort should move via Vazhuthacaud, Xanadu and Panavila and vehicles going from Thampanoor and East Fort side to Peroorkkada should move via R R Lamp, Nanthancode and Kowdiar. Parking facilities have been arranged at the following spots in view of the celebrations and shopping: On one side of the Asan Square-General Hospital road, PMG-Law College Road, Press Club Road, Saphalyam-Jacob’s Junction, Museum-Sooryakanthi Road, Museum-Nandavanam Road, Vellayambalam-Sasthamangalam Road and KELTRON-Althara Road.The public can also park their vehicles at the Kerala University Office, University College, Sanskrit College, Jalabhavan, Jimmy George Stadium compound and LBS Compound, Poojappura. Parking is banned on the RR Lamp-Vellayambalam Road, VJT Hall-Asan Square road, G V Raja-RR Lamp, TTC-Nanthencode stretch, Vellayambalam-Althara Road and Corporation office-Nanthencode Road. City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham in a statement here on Wednesday has sought the cooperation of the public with the aforesaid arrangements.
