Complaining of chest pain, Shibu Soren failed appearing before a court in connection with the Chirrudih massacre case.

New Delhi: Complaining of chest pains, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Chief, Shibhu Soren failed to appear before a court in Jamatra in Jharkhand, in connection with the Chiruddh massacre case.

Soren is one of the 26 accused in the case. The others accused however, appeared before the court.

The authorities of the Dumka Central Jail, where Soren is held, sent a letter to the court suggesting that the Soren had complained of chest pain.

Soren was moved to the Dumka Central Jail from a Jamatra jail after being produced before a court in Jamatra in Jharkhand.

He was brought form Tihar jail in New Delhi, where he was undergoing a life sentence after being convicted in the murder of his private secretary Shashinath Jha.

Soren had appeared before a court in Dumka in connection with the alleged violation of an election mode of conduct.

Jamtara Additional District and Sessions Judge Arun Kumar has announced February 3 as the next date for hearing the 1975 Chirrudih massacre case.
