Security guard stoned to death

ROURKELA: Unidentified miscreants in a bid to commit theft hurled stones at a private security guard Lakhendra Minz (35), leading to his death on Friday night. The incident occurred at about 1 am near Rumabahal under Rajgangpur police limits in Sundargarh district.  Rajgangpur SDPO P K Panigrahi said a group of miscreants had come to steal cables of the overhead conveyor belt of the OCL plant. When the guard tried to intervene, they hurled stones at him leaving him critically injured.  He died hours later at a hospital. Case has been registered.
