PUTTAPARTHI: The 86th birth anniversary of Satya Saibaba, the first since his passing away, was celebrated in a grand manner at Prashanti Nilayam here on Wednesday amidst the presence of hundreds of devotees. "Though Saibaba is not amidst us physically, he is always there in our hearts,' Tamil Nadu governor K Rosaiah, who was the chief guest for the occasion, said, adding like Dwaraka and Ayodhya, Puttaparthi too will remain immortal in the annals of human history.
Describing Satya Sai as an epitome of service and humanity, Rosaiah said that Baba had always taught dharma, seva, truth, love and affection. If Satya Sai Seva organisations are rendering services in 151 countries in the world, it is nothing but the miracle of Satya Sai, Rosaiah said.True tributes to Satya Sai can be paid only by remaining true to his teachings and doing humanitarian services, Rosaiah said.

Speaking on the occasion, Satya Sai Central Trust member Srinivasan said that the service activities and programmes of the Satya Sai Central Trust will continue as usual. "We will extend education services in rural areas through Satya Sai Vidya Vahini scheme. Health, Education and welfare progrmames will be further extended,' he said.

Former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chawan, ministers N Raghveera Reddy, J Geetha Reddy, TTD former chairman DK Audikesavulu Naidu, Marri Sasidhar Reddy, district collector V Durga Dass, DIG Charu Sinha, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Raghunath Reddy, Satya Sai Central Trust secretary Prasad Rao, members Justice Bhagavati, RJ Ratnakar and others were present.
