Ruchika case: witness says CBI misquoted him
The witness claims Ruchika's brother was paraded half-naked near his house.

Chandigarh: In a new twist to Ruchika Girhotra molestation case a witness has claimed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has misquoted him.

The CBI closure report in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case says shopkeepers and neighbours of Girhotras were examined and the witnesses said nothing about Ashu Girhotra being paraded half-naked in front of his house.

Now a witness and Girhotras neighbour, Vijay Dheer, has comes forward and alleged that he had told CBI that he saw Ruchika's brother Ashu was paraded half-naked in front of his house.

Dheer also claimed that Anshu was handcuffed and beaten by officials of Haryana Police.

However, CBI sources told CNN-IBN that Dheer has been sited in the closure report in Annexure B as prosecution witness 71.

His statement alleging that Ashu was paraded in torn shirt and underwear was also a part of the report, sources said.

They, however, added that there was no evidence to substantiate what Dheer had been claiming, saying that other witnesses questioned including neighbours of Girhotras and shopkeepers in the area said they remember no instance of Ashu being paraded half-naked.

They also pointed that was a contradiction in the date that Ashu was allegedly paraded half-naked. Girhotras have been claiming that Anshu was paraded at around Diwali time but they later changed it to December, which was almost two months after Diwali that year.

The CBI closure report has given a clean chit to Haryana Police, which has been accused of targeting the Girhotras particularly Ashu, at the behest of her molester and former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore.
