HYDERABAD: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned a Rs 716.34-crore loan from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund, the highest ever at one point of time, to the state government. At a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday NABARD sanctioned Rs  716.34 crore loan to the state government out of the Rs 1056-crore normative allocation for 16 minor irrigation schemes, 219 rural roads, 58 bridges and 33 rural water supply projects.The RIDF loan of Rs 198.02 crore is for 33 comprehensive protected water supply schemes for 844 habitations in Mahaboobnagar, Ranga Reddy, Medak, Khammam, Warangal, Kadapa, Kurnool, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur and Prakasam districts. Besides, NABARD sanctioned Rs  40.14 crore for 16 minor irrigation projects in Adilabad, YSR Kadapa, Nalgonda, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.  Further, an RIDF loan of Rs 343.28 crore was sanctioned for 219 rural roads in 22 districts and Rs 134.7 crore for 58 bridges in 17 districts.  NABARD has so far sanctioned 25,864 projects with a loan component of Rs 13,257 crore to the government.
