TIRUNELVELI: Koodankulam protesters continued the road blockade near the plant for the third day on Saturday, preventing KKNPP workforce from entering the plant.  The protesters will now meet at Koodankulam on Sunday to decide on the next course of protest.One hundred and six protesters have been staging a fast at Idinthakarai near Koodankulam in Tirunelveli district, since October 9.  Besides, a large number of protesters are blocking Anjugramam-Uvari road near Koodankulam plant, preventing the KKNPP workforce from entering the unit. A large number of police force were deployed in the area.People Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) coordinator S P Udayakumar, who is  leading the protest, told Express that they would conduct a meeting at Koodankulam on Sunday at 11.30 am to decide the next course of action.  Village leaders, community leaders, women group from coastal and interior villages, and supporters across the State would participate in the meet. “Besides, we have invited representatives from political parties, except Congress, to participate at the Sunday meeting. We would  not create any hindrance to the local body elections,” Udayakumar noted.KKNPP Station Director R S Sundar said that normal work was affected at the plant on Saturday as well.
