Registrar to VC: Lets bridge gap and work

BANGALORE: In an attempt to make peace with the Bangalore University (BU) Vice-Chancellor Dr N Prabhu Dev, Registrar (Administration) Dr B C Mylarappa has written a letter to the former, requesting for collaborative efforts to put an end to the problems at varsity. The letter from Mylarappa states “Sir, you will agree with me that the University is a composite body where the presence of the head of the institution (VC) is absolutely necessary in the head office to run the administration or otherwise there would be a deadlock in the administrative machinery.” He writes, “The administrative machinery in the University is a total network and will move forward when the entire team joins hands together and coordinate under your leadership. When the link is missing, the work would suffer.” “I strongly believe that our official relationship is necessary for the progress of BU. This widening gap in the administration becomes the tool in the hands of people with vested interests, who will take undue advantage,” writes Dr Mylarappa, calling for amicable solutions to the petty differences in official matters. “I know that you are hard working and also regulating all files and papers of the University that are referred to you. In all humbleness and sincerity, may I request you kindly be present in your office at Jnana Bharathi campus. As Registrar, I will be here in the discharge of our assigned duties to the entire satisfaction of all concerned,” he writes. Dr Mylarappa adds, “Let us respond to the problems to the problems of students and teachers...I am optimistic that we can do our best. Let us be in our offices and solve all the major issues ...without fear or favour.”The letter ends with, “I would not hesitate in demitting my office as Registrar, without any reservations, if required.”
